Fun Way to Introduce the Music Staff To Your Kindergarten

Introduce the five lines on a music staff to your kindergarteners with this poem. Placing one pumpkin at a time on the fence as you tell them to echo the poem back to you one phrase at a time.

I have them count the pumpkins on the fence and then tell them that the pumpkins look like music notes on a music staff. Then I tell them that a music staff  is made up 5 lines and 4 spaces and that in music we place notes on the staff to make our music.
You can also work on vocabulary such as bar lines, treble clef sign and double bar lines. Have fun using this mini lesson.
